About a week ago, I posted that my kiddos were working on fractions. Between Superstorm Sandy, the quarter ending, election day, and a math conference today, I’ve seen my kiddos 3 times since that post! Yesterday I (finally) remembered to grab some pics of them “playing” with their fractions! I wanted to share with you so that you could get a better idea of the games!

Spin and Compare!

Building Equivalent fractions using Fraction Towers!

By far, my kiddos favorite! Fraction War. First they draw a card, then they compare the lengths. They are getting better about knowing without having to hold the cards up to each other.

Next week, we’ll start approximating fractions based on the number line and the distance it represents. I see a HUGE interactive number line in our near future!
